Hello, Writers,
All the best to you and yours for the 2024 end-of-year Holidays.
The Local Author Spotlight at the Freeman Branch Library was a worthwhile event to attend as either a presenting author or an audience member. As an author, you can pitch your creative works. Your book does not need to be current. The person running the event, Esteban Salinas, advised they try to host local author events twice yearly. We'll do our best to keep you informed.
Our daily online support call for NaNoWriMo went very well. There were twice as many of us this year compared to last. A truly valuable support group for anyone going through thirty days of writing at least 1,667 words per day or for those of us who wanted to more firmly establish a daily writing habit that could consist of more than just writing; for example, editing, thinking, researching, organizing, etc. Congratulations to all who dedicated so much effort to their NaNo journey– no matter how you participated.
This month's feature is an essay by Martha Cuddihy titled: “Bedtime." We appreciate Martha sharing her work with us. "Bedtime" is also featured on the BAWL Substack feed.
As we said last month, we want to feature you!
Your essays, poetry, short stories, or serials are all welcome. Please see this post for more details. Please note: You can certainly submit more than once. Who's next?
There is no Monday morning write-in for December 16. We are winding down our schedule for 2024. We WILL have a write-in event for Wednesday, December 18th, the last one of the year. Even if you don't want to write and want to end the year with some good cheer, feel free to join the event at 9:30 am and say Hi. No video is required; only voice is ok if participants prefer. The Monday and Wednesday morning write-in events will resume on January 6th, 2025.
The Critique Group's twice-monthly events will resume in 2025. Events will be created once I have received confirmation from the organizers. For Julie's write-in this month, please check with her on Facebook.
We're hoping to resume in-person guest speaker/league meeting events in 2025, but there is nothing to report just yet. Stay tuned for that. (Volunteers needed.)
Until next year, best wishes for Peace and Goodwill to each and every one of you.
