The 2025 calendar of events in our website's NEWS section has been archived, and the 2026 calendar has been created. Known events for the first quarter of 2026 have been created. Also, check out the How Many of These Do You Know - a new webpage - for a bit of fun.
This paragraph is for those of you who submit to the Reedsy.com contests. I participated in a 24-hour contest where you sign up for $5, receive a prompt at the start of the 24 hours, and submit your artwork by the deadline. If you've participated in Reedsy events or are considering it, you may want to read this interesting article: COMPLAINTS about Reedsy / Reedsy.com by Angela. It has to do with the Reedsy Terms of Use you agree to when you submit.
Angela's Desk is part of Writers.Weekly.com. "WritersWeekly.com is one of the oldest and most respected sites on freelance writing. It has been published continuously since 1997. Authors Publish is another helpful website/newsletter. Check out Issue 657: Ten Manuscript Publishers Open to Direct Submissions in January 2026 by Emily Harstone, published January 2nd, 2026. Publishing opportunities are often posted on the BAWL Substack account. Subscribe to get alerts.
This month's feature is a review of GPTZero. I tried it so you don't have to.
We're having the in-person meeting this month. Keep your eyes on that event for more information.
That's all for now, folks. Happy writing!
