BAWL & Friends Newsletter

November 2023 Edition

Hello, Writers!

We have both good and bad news this month.

Let's start with the BAWL 2023 Anthology: Space. The BAWL latest release will be available for purchase in paperback format on November 19th, 2023. The Kindle version will be available November 25. It can be pre-ordered now. Here is a link to the book page on Amazon. The creation process has been a long but rewarding experience for all of us. Those of you who submitted your Essay, Poem, or Short Story should have received an email from Becky requesting the physical address to which your paperback copy should be mailed. She also provided artwork for any social media posts you would like to make. Please share the news. We are very thankful to all of you who submitted and assisted in the creation of another BAWL anthology.

More good news! Congratulations to Lisa Unfried on the publishing of her latest book, Into The Dragon's Den. You can read more about that in the News section of our website or click on Announcements down below.  Well done, Lisa. We look forward to many more announcements like that from.

Any of you who have accomplishments to report can do so in our forum (as Lisa did) or by contacting me directly.

Next, we are almost halfway through the month of November and therefore halfway through NaNoWriMo 2023. In support of that effort we've been having a  Zoom call, from 9 - 10 am cst every single day. This call will continue on through to the end of November. Even if you're not participating in NaNo you are welcomed to join us. The event information is on our Events page.

This month the feature is the last one of the Paid to Write series and covers the highlights in making some income from writing for Medium.com.

The last announcement is a sad one.

Robert E. (Bob) Hawkins, who was a long-time member, Newsletter Editor and Website administrator for Bay Area Writers league, passed away on October 19th, 2023.

My gratitude to Bob for the work he did setting things up for BAWL and making it easier for me to help out. I wish I could have met him. My sincerest sympathies to those who knew and cared about him and will miss having his happy, good nature amongst us.

Hope you all have a healthy and happy Thanksgiving holiday.

- Kelley (aka Kym)
