In-Person Meetings Starting This Month

BAWL is back to in-person meetings every month from January through October. As before, a speaker will discuss subjects to enhance your writing. Our sessions will be held on the fourth Wednesday every month between 6 pm and 7 pm. We will meet at the Harris County Freeman Library in the Clear Lake Area of Houston. The address is16612 Diana Lane, Houston, 77058, near the intersection of Bay Area Blvd. and El Camino.

Anthony Hughes of Clockwise Solutions will speak on cybersecurity and its importance in keeping our work safe and personal web searches. He will bring a poem he wrote before AI and after AI. The date is January 24, 6 pm to 7 pm.

Alexander Li of Local Spear Leads will speak at the next meeting. His topic will be writers' websites, the importance of a website if you choose to have one for marketing purposes, and how to drive traffic to your site. The meeting will be on February 28, from 6 pm until 7 pm.

John Duncan of Tejas Imagery & Media Services will speak about media use for interviews of older family members or senior citizens that you might be interested in writing about. He will speak on March 27 from 6 pm to 7 pm.

Other speakers I will contact are someone referred by Alexander Li, a hybrid publisher, and someone I met at a networking business breakfast that will talk about writers and taxes, which will be sometime after tax season. Also, one of our writer members, Maxie, told me about a retired English teacher and author she recently met. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if anyone knows a ghostwriter, someone who writes short story collections, or an editor.
