Hello, Writers!
It is time for us to take a fresh look at BAWL Write-In events. Time to get more members (and guests) involved and with that goal in mind we've made some changes. We will keep members updated on these changes via our Announcements / News web page but I'll also use this newsletter to reach our broad audience.
The write-in events have been and can be very beneficial for a number of reasons. The Feature this month explores that topic.
We have made a change to the Monday and Wednesday events. They are now at 9:30 am instead of 2pm and continue to be hosted by Becky. All are welcomed. Please use the EVENTS to register.
Also, beginning in May, Julie Pitzel will host the Saturday write-in. The Saturday event is a recurring on the third Saturday of each month. This month the event will be May 18th, 2024 (this weekend!). At this time, the event will be via Zoom and as per Julie's request here is the Zoom call-in link:https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87293345121?pwd=RGFxVjA4Mkd2Z0FCY2J6b09EUSswdz09 . You can also RSVP for the event here and you will receive the Zoom link in the confirmation email. Any questions should be directed to Julie Pitzel, her contact information can be found in the Member Directory. Please add this information to your calendar, tell Alexa to remind you, or whatever you use to be reminded of important events, and join Julie for this monthly weekend event. A big THANK YOU to Julie for volunteering to host it.
The in-person speaker event for May has been canceled. Please check out the Event for June. This is the last scheduled event. If you have recommendations for speakers please contact Debi Fairchild.
There was no change to the leadership of the Bay Area Writers League, no newly elected officials. For now the Treasurer remains the same.
As it is May, we're only a couple of months away from the traditional start of the annual BAWL Anthology. Who among you would like to lead this rewarding experience? If no one volunteers we will not have an anthology this year. Anyone who is interested should contact editorbawl@gmail.com for details.
May the words flow out of your fingers, into your keyboard (or pen), and out into the universe with much happiness and satisfaction,
- Kelley
